A BER cert is the first step to determine building efficiency and improvement measures.
SEAI BETTER ENERGY HOMES PROGRAMME
HOW TO QUALIFY FOR GRANT SUPPORT
- You need to know your property MPRN, year of construction and measures you wish to undertake as part of the Better Energy Homes programme.
- A BER cert is accompanied by an advisory report, which will help identify measures that can improve the energy efficiency of your home.
- Before applying you will need to have selected a registered contractor.
- An accepted grant offer remains valid for eight months from the date of issue of grant offer notification.
- Ensure SEAI grant approval before buying materials or starting any grant-funded work.
- Qualifying expenditure includes materials and labour, and must be for newly fitted products and in compliance with SEAI required standards.
- Use SEAI registered contractors and have a BER assessment carried out after completion.
